Modular Network Development Program
Module Number One:
Network Organization

Background:

THE EDMONDS GROUP is the leading consulting firm for the development of Integrated Optometry/Ophthalmology Networks for Managed Eye Care. The company developed, owned and managed a capitated contract for the first Integrated Network in 1985. Recently, the company completed the process launching the providers as their own Non-Profit, Non Stock provider organization while maintaining a role as the consultant. From this initial experience and through many network clients, the structure, form, organization and timetables have been well established. The following module has been designed to assist network leaders in the organization and development of an Integrated Network. In some cases this will be a re-organization and re-direction. In other cases it will mean starting with innovative leaders of Optometry, Ophthalmology, or a tertiary eye care facility and building a program from scratch.

Process: The following outline represents the elements of network development and is the strategy used by THE EDMONDS GROUP:

  1. Organization
    1. Identify leaders of the optometric community
    2. Identify leaders of the ophthalmologic community
    3. Identify existing Networks
    4. Presentation to core group of leaders of both professions on Integrated Networks and appoint an Integrated Interim Board
    5. Form or revisit company vehicle, assure balanced Integration
    6. Recruit panel members of both professions
    7. Appoint Committee Members

The Proposal:

THE EDMONDS GROUP proposes a consulting relationship to assist and guide the startup organization of an Integrated Network of Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. After completion of this startup phase, the network will be prepared to begin exploring the best option for linkage with a Management Services Organization.

Financials:

The daily consulting rate for members of The EDMONDS GROUP is $1,500.00 per day plus expenses. Estimates are based on the other Modules that are linked with the Organizational Module but, the average cost for this project is a retainer of $18,000.00 plus expenses.
