Product Development

Background:

THE EDMONDS GROUP has a broad background in Eye Care Product Development. The traditional Carve-Out product for Integrated Optometry/ Ophthalmology services on an "at risk" capitation basis was developed in Philadelphia in 1985. The firm, at that time trading as Vision Care Consultants, established the capitation rates and monitored utilization of all providers over an eight year time frame. One of the principal consultants was also instrumental in developing a capitated Product that included Refractive Surgery as a core vision correction benefit. With this background, THE EDMONDS GROUP can serve as the key element in helping a Network design and price its Service Products.

Process:

  1. Launch fee survey of all Fee for Service Eye Care codes

  2. Evaluate Market data

  3. Meet with designated payors to determine eye care needs

  4. Meet with Ophthalmic Suppliers to determine product opportunities

  5. Design and Price family of Products to offer to payors

  6. Negotiate with payors from family of Products

  7. Re-Design and adjust product and price to meet payors needs

The Proposal:
THE EDMONDS GROUP proposes a consulting relationship to develop and price a family of eye care Service Products.

Financials:
The daily consulting rate for members of The EDMONDS GROUP is $1,500.00 per day plus expenses. Time estimates are based on the other Modules that are linked with the Product Development Module but, the average cost for this project is a retainer of $15,000.00 plus expenses.
